Accessibility Arrangements at Dolphin Reef
At Dolphin Reef, we place great emphasis on ensuring that all visitors can experience our offerings without discrimination. We are committed to enabling everyone to take part in the Dolphin Reef experience and encounter with the dolphins.
Although the site is approved as an accessible location, we are always looking to improve and welcome any suggestions or comments that can help us provide a better and more accessible experience. Below is an update on the current accessibility status.
Accessible Entrance
The main entrance to the site is accessible. An electric vehicle is available at the entrance for those who need assistance with mobility within the site. Visitors should contact the entrance guard for assistance.
Parking
There are four designated parking spots for individuals with disabilities in the parking lot adjacent to the entrance. These spots are located at the closest point to the site's entrance. A paved path leads from the parking area to the ticket booths and the main entrance gate. Additionally, in the southern municipal parking lot, there are two more accessible parking spots near the site's southern gate.
Accessible Ticket Booths
An accessible ticket booth is available at the main entrance, which includes an induction loop system.
Restrooms
There are two accessible restrooms located at central points within the site.
Pathways
Pathways leading to the main attractions, including the nature film screening hall and the site's restaurants, are adapted for visitors with disabilities. However, as the site is primarily built from natural materials with an emphasis on preserving the natural environment, assistance from a companion may be advisable in certain areas.
Upon prior coordination, visitors can use an accessible beach wheelchair or a designated electric vehicle.
Beach Access
An accessible pathway to the water is available in the northern section of the beach, and another accessible path leads to the beachfront restaurant.
Visitor Pier
The visitor pier, which allows for dolphin viewing and interaction, is accessible to individuals with disabilities. However, part of the pier is floating and its stability can be affected by changing sea conditions, so it is recommended to have a companion when on the pier. Staff members are present on the pier to provide explanations and assistance as needed.
Diving and Swimming at Dolphin Reef
Dolphin Reef offers swimming and diving activities to all interested individuals, without discrimination, provided they meet the criteria set by the Israel Sport Diving Authority for safe participation.
Since participant safety is paramount, certain disabilities and health conditions require special consideration before approval for participation. Therefore, individuals with disabilities must arrange a prior consultation. Each request is assessed individually based on professional considerations and the regulations of the competent diving authority in Israel.
Relaxation Pools
The level of the pools and the upper "S'talbet" café area are accessible, and an assistance device is available for entering and exiting the main pool. There is no accessibility between the pools' level and the intermediate level. Visitors with disabilities can receive assistance from the pool staff or enjoy refreshments at the upper level, where accessible restrooms are also available.
S'talbet Bar and Upper Level
The upper level of the relaxation pools, where the S'talbet Bar is located, is fully accessible, with accessible restrooms available.
Staff Assistance
Throughout the visit, the Dolphin Reef staff is available to assist and provide support to any visitor with disabilities and their companions.
Updates
We will continue to provide updates on changes and improvements.
